BYU vs. Utah

Matthew and I were SO excited to go on a little date Saturday night!  We went to the BYU vs. Utah basketball game and had tons of fun!  We got Gracie bathed and ready for bed and took her over to Matthew's Mom's house to be babysat.   As much as we love to spend time as a little family we always enjoy getting away together for a few hours.  Matthew has still kept in close contact with all of the players so we usually use their tickets and sit down with the families and wives.  We love to visit and chat (well maybe I love to chat, Matthew always just watches the games) and lend our support to everyone.  I was anxious for the season to start to see how Matthew would feel about it being the first time in his life he is not on a team...and I am happy to say he has done really well with it all!  He says the hardest part is missing the camaraderie with the guys, but he knows not playing is really a blessing because he is able to do accounting (he wouldn't have been able to do both accounting and basketball, they are both too demanding) and really focus on his grades.  He still isn't 100% with his body...he played pick up ball with a bunch of guys of Friday and was up all night with pretty bad back pain, so he spent most of the game either shifting around in his seat or standing up.  He has come to terms with his injuries and knowing he will never be able to compete the way he once did and has turned a lot of his competitive drive to school...I just hopes he doesn't stand up and cheer when he does better than someone else in class!  We feel very blessed to have had the experience of him playing and are very grateful for the relationships we continue to have with everyone involved.  The game was pretty close and really exciting, there is nothing like a sold out crowd in the Marriot Center!  They're playing next Saturday against Air Force and we're planning on taking Gracie Belle, she loves going and cheering!  We were ready to go pick Gracie up from Lisa's...she was passed around and held the entire time, she absolutely loved it!
